When God Speaks
Jonah

Jonah is one of the oddest books in Scripture. It's off in all sorts of ways and not just because of the big fish. It is odd because it has the potential to really surprise the reader in all kinds of ways and in many, many areas.

The delight of Deborah
The Book of Judges

7 Aug 2016
Scott Blackwell

People burst out singing to God for all sorts of reasons in the Bible, but in the passage we have before us today, Deborah and Barak burst forth in song because God allows the army of an opposing King to be defeated. But Judges 4 and 5 simply meant to instruct us about our attitude to War and victory?

Colin Smith

The parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin shows the great effort God will go to find and recover lost sinners. There is great celebrations in heaven when the lost are found.

But the Pharisees do not look after the flock of Israel and do not seek for the lost

How do you think you would respond if someone asked you the question: "As a Christian, what do you look like?"
Of course, the question you have to ask back is: "Look like to who and in what regard?"
"What do I look like spiritually, physically or practically? And are you asking what I look like to myself, to other people, or to God?"
